Extreme Heat in Long Beach, Community CAAP Event
(March 30, 2019)

This was part of Long Beach's Climate Action & Adaptation Plan (CAAP) community event series, and took place from 10am to 1:30pm at the Silverado Park Community Center.

I was invited to speak about climate change at Long Beach's AOC7 monthly neighborhood community meeting. The presentation I gave was an oral presentation without visual aids due to technical difficulties, but the following contains a like to the presentation I had prepared for this meeting.

2015 Guest Lecture for the Orange Country American Cetacean Society (ACS-OC)



Coral Health -- Understanding the Animal, Ecosystem, and Stressors from a Spatial Point of View
 
(September 24, 2015)

A 90 minute guest lecture I gave to the American Cetacean Society's Orange County Chapter (ACS-OC).  The lecture provided an introduction to corals, their health, stressors, and how GIS can be used to better understand them.

This is a 2 day workshop for 5th-12th grade teachers and is hosted by the Aquarium of the Pacific
in Long Beach and NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL) in Pasadena, California.

AA 90 minute guest lecture I gave to Dr. Paul LaRock's "Introduction to Oceanography" course(undergraduate-level) at Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. 

This lecture ended by showing a short video entitled "Window In The Waves"
about the Flower Garden Banks (coral reefs in the Gulf of Mexico)

taught at the Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium (LUMCON) in Chauvin, Louisiana.
